Digital Marketing Technical Manager

We are a UK based consultancy with a growing list of Blue-Chip clients. We are looking for dynamic and motivated IT professionals to join our team to meet the immediate demand in Durban.
The client urgently needs experienced digital web technologists with a wide range of experience and skills in a digital broadcast environment.
The role is positioned to be in the critical space between technology teams and brand teams. You will ensure that strategic, tactical and operational brand objectives are met by ensuring a full understanding of the technical landscape available to them. You will be the internal IT consultant for Global Brands, driving the development of digital strategies and platforms and their deployment in a digital environment. You will be responsible for building relationships with internal stakeholders including CMI, Media, eCommerce, Brand and Division teams and forging partnerships with external digital partners.
You will work to ensure standards are understood and adhered to, the right direction is followed with technology selection and implementation with approved technology delivery partners. You will report to the Head of IT Engagement for Digital and will need to build strong relationships with brand teams. You’ll be the brands’ trusted IT advisor, helping to help non-IT teams understand digital computing.
The role has both strategic and operational aspects. You will ideally have strong delivery exposure covering the following areas:

  • National (or ideally international) experience with major brands and their digital web presence
  • Solid and demonstrable technical knowledge of content management systems (CMS)
  • Proficient and comfortable with the Adobe Cloud Marketing suite of tools, in particular being able to connect to any of the tools to analyze, optimize and measure
  • Confidence in using data and insights to optimize web/digital consumer journeys, and the ability to teach and coach others to do the same
  • Web personalization, tagging, AB testing, web and email campaigns
  • Website speed, standards, accessibility, data protection and information management
  • Analysis of site usage/traffic, including Google Analytics and other tools

The technical teams that will be represented and consulted regularly will include:

  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting
  • Internal and external technical teams of the platform
  • Suppliers and digital agencies
  • IT support teams
  • Third-Party Integration Service Providers
  • Internal IT Architecture and Leadership
  • And others

You naturally need to build relationships with internal customers and guide them through the processes necessary to deliver robust digital solutions. We are looking for customer-focused individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and “get the job done”.

Excellent communication and documentation skills in English are essential. Preference will be given to applicants who provide a strong cover letter outlining why their application should be considered.
