Chester’s Chicken, in conjunction with Love’s Travel Stops, will celebrate professional truckers with its annual Truckersgiving. On November 17, Chester’s and Love’s will distribute a free Super Snack meal to the first 100 guests of each Chester’s located in Love’s Travel Stops. The first 20 commercial truck drivers who show their CDL will also receive a Chester trucker hat, according to a press release.
“The role of professional drivers remains critical – particularly during the holiday season – with the average driver completing 60 hours of driving in a week,” William Culpepper, vice president of marketing for Chester’s Chicken, said in the press release. “We launched the first Truckersgiving with Love’s last year, and it was so well received that we had to bring it back in an even bigger way. Truck drivers are some of our best and most loyal customers, so offering this free meal to drivers across the country is our way of saying thank you for their important work.”
The Super Snack meal includes two pieces of Chester’s signature fried chicken – a thigh and thigh – and a side of potato wedges.
There are 141 Chester restaurants in Love’s, spread across 34 states. About 60 professional drivers visit a Love’s two to three times a week on average – and the week before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times for truck traffic.
“The professional drivers cannot be thanked enough for their hours on the road,” Joe Cotton, vice president of food services at Love’s, said in the press release. “Truckersgiving is a new favorite tradition that we’re proud to host with Chester’s Chicken to celebrate our professional truck driver customers and kick off the holiday season.”
Chester’s Chicken operates 1,100 locations.
