Soonish is looking for an experienced beverage sales professional to fill the role of Northern California Market Manager. The Northern California Market Manager is responsible for achieving sales and field execution goals in this critical launch region, as well as key account management and day-to-day channel partner management. Candidates should have strong connections to major San Francisco accounts on-site and off-site. This position will work closely with Soonish’s management team and partners to execute all sales and marketing initiatives, support distributor relationships and develop new business.


  • Responsible for the performance of sales in the San Francisco market, including achieving exhaustion targets, securing key account placements onsite and offsite, achieving distribution targets, executing the merchandising, etc.

  • Work with distributor management to execute local planning and account management as required. Build independent relationships with account buyers, meet new and existing accounts.

  • Develop and maintain business contacts with all important customers and new prospects

  • Roll with distributor sales reps to oversee the execution of local sales efforts, with a focus on tracking and closing the sale.

  • Account staff training and education seminars for all major accounts

  • Undertake tastings and presentations to trade members and consumers; attend special promotions such as retail tastings, tasting events, etc.

  • Lead in-market merchandising activities including installation of shelf supports, retail displays, branded signage, menu/cocktail features, branded bar fixtures, wall signage , etc.

  • Manage point of sale assets and regional allocation

  • Actively research and identify local events and promotional opportunities in your market to support Soonish brand awareness to drive sales

  • When necessary, support the recruitment and training of brand and sampling ambassadors

  • Act as a point of contact for the distribution team in your market, working to build a deep partnership for Soonish through distributor management and field sales teams

  • Educate distributors’ sales staff on the brand portfolio and brand standards

  • Participate in regular meetings with distributor to communicate company goals, obtain additional sales support, plan travel and present at general sales meetings to share brand updates and field marketing initiatives

  • Work with assigned Distribution Manager to understand market pricing models, offers, incentives, etc.

  • Manage the local market budget by adhering to company approval policies and expense reporting policies

  • Understand the sources of account and performance data in your market and work to integrate the data into local sales strategies

  • Adhere to all sales and marketing reporting routines, including a weekly sales report

  • Keep up to date with all the laws, regulations and policies that govern your market

  • Keep management up to date with all news and information related to your market


  • Candidate must have a strong record of success in sales performance in the beverage category

  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the Northern California beverage industry (preferably for adults)

  • Must have experience managing distributors

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with executives, employees, suppliers and customers (internal and external) at all levels of the organization

  • Must have the ability to analyze information, prepare reports and solve problems

  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce CRM

  • Must always conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner at all times
